Work with me

I started my career in magazine journalism in 2005, starting out as an intern on women’s glossies like Marie Claire and Red, and working my way up to a features writer (main focus beauty and health). I soon saw the potential in online publishing and moved to digital in 2007.

I’ve written and edited for various charity web teams, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and Tommy’s, the baby charity. I’ve also freelanced for Madeformums.com and Practical Parenting magazine.

You can see all the clients and companies I’ve worked for on my Linked In profile.

Always in search of the perfect work/family/life balance, I’ve found it creating this blog (as a hobby and portfolio builder) and managing (as editor and publisher) the go-to-place for local parents Mumsnet Exeter.

Time-permitting, I also accept freelance writing/editing/content marketing commissions. For the past couple of years, I’ve worked on redesigns for Target Ovarian Cancer and Tommy’s new pregnancy and miscarriage sections.

This blog has given me the opportunity to combine writing with parenthood, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with some great brands including Stokke (see The Edit for the video we produced together) and (soon-to-be) Naturalmat.

Most businesses I work with are interested in appearing on both Mumsnet Exeter and Diary of a Devon Mum – so please let me know if you want to hear about advertising packages, incorporating both websites. Join local businesses, including Exeter Northcott, Water Babies, Exeter Forest School, the Orange Elephant Ice Cream Parlour and Pizza Stein, who have advertised over the years.

Please get in touch (or email devonmumdiary@gmail.com) and I’ll see what I can do to help.
